A Little Texas Heaven on a Chip....
Behind the brightly colored doors, there is a little bit of Texas heaven (on a chip of course)...Yes, I confess...I have a favorite (I really mean favorite) place to go for a little taste of Texas...The Austin-based "Chuy's" Mexican restaurant opened here several months ago, and I have been a faithful supporter. In fact, I'm on a first-name basis with quite a few of the staff. The warm, crisp tortilla chips are complimented with fresh lime-based salsa and their jalapeno-ranch sauce. The chips are absolutely addictive! I'm here to caution you...I mean encourage you...to just go to Chuy's one time and see for yourself how good the Tex-Mex is...While you're there, maybe try a chicken chalupa or a chicken enchilada with ranchera sauce... and if you need to "share" this experience with someone, just call me...I can be there in a heart beat... pass the salsa, please...

Been There, Done That, Got the TeeShirt...
Well, not quite...I didn't buy a teeshirt, although I did buy some cute white Chico's jeans. We just got back from a little get-away in Gatlinburg, TN. Sammy and I woke up Friday morning, and just decided to jump in the car and drive...Four hours later, we arrived in a different time zone...literally, EST to be specific. We had absolutely gorgeous weather...clear skies, 72 degrees, a light Spring breeze...then today when we started home we faced rain. The weather over Oklahoma and Texas showed an amazing blue color on my iPhone radar...could it be? Snow? I checked the "Pioneer Woman" website, and there is was...Snow...lots and lots of snow in Texas and Oklahoma. I guess we made home just in time, because now it is raining "cats and dogs". We can now officially mark Gatlinburg off our "to do" list...I'm just going to enjoy my own comfy bed tonight...Now that's what I consider B-L-I-S-S!
P.S. Sammy averaged 50 mpg on the trip...I just wanted to document his 51.3 mpg! Well done!

Welcome a new little soul...
I always marvel at the birth of a new little baby. First, it is an incredibly holy moment in time for the parents and people who surround them. Secondly, babies are just so tiny...their expressions, movements and sounds are mesmerizing. I just had to share the newest "little soul" who has joined our family...Meghan Denise...my 8th great-niece. Our family continues to be blessed with each little addition...welcome little one...I love you very much.

Learning the "A-B-C"s of Blogging
Today I changed my background and header! Baby steps, however progress...I'm surprised how creative blogging can be, although I must admit it can also be a little frustrating. I guess in the scheme of things it is easier to go to the kitchen and bake a wonderfully sinful chocolate cake than learning a new computer skill. First of all, the chocolate cake is something I can actually make from scratch...smell it baking...and have a "warm fuzzy" when I hear hubs say he loves it after, of course, I "sample" it. Blogging is going to be a progressive adventure for me...something that I can grow into. I just need to take it step by step, and create something wonderful in the end...It's a lot like quilting...piece by piece and layer by layer...only on a computer screen. Hello, world...I've started "quilting"!
